Gene was one of my all time favourite artists and I was lucky enough to meet him at a New York Comic Convention a few years ago. He and his wife were very friendly to me and I consider it an honour that he spent that time chatting to me. Even then he wasn't a well man.
We really have lost a great. His individual style was a feast to the eye and carried so much mood and intensity.
There is so much to say about the great man and his work that I am sure it will be said better elsewhere. I just wanted to say that he will be missed.
RIP Gene Colan 1926 - 2011.
