Interspace: Anthology Comic 2018

40 pages - Full Colour - Anthology.

Hey folks. Did you get to Nottingham Comic Convention last year? If you didn’t I must tell you that you missed a great event. I’ve been to every one of Kev and Kel Brett’s events over the years and this was my favourite so far. It was rammed full of some great guests, tables selling comics of all kinds, panels, music and events for the kids.
As if they don’t do enough the organisers decided to produce another of their series of anthologies to raise money for some great charities.
‘Interspace’ is the 2018 anthology for the convention and is a packed forty page full colour ALL AGES comic, produced to raise money for The Royal British Legion, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Friary. It was initially kickstarted for print costs and sold on the day but is now available to get online for the first time.
It is a collection of short comic stories and strips from some of the best small press and industry professional comic creators in the UK.
Featuring work by such renown creators as:
Marc Laming (Star Wars, Planet Hulk, X-Men)
The Etherington Bros (Long Gone Don, Baggage, The Phoenix Comic)
Steve Beckett (The Beano)
Jon Laight (Level-8 Comics)
Susie Gander (Perrywinkle)
Chris Imber (Last Sheriff)
Dan Harris (Attic Studios)
James Lawrence (The Legend of La Mariposa)
Gavin Mitchell & Emily B Owen (Pup & Grumpicorn)
Tony Esmond (The Awesome Comic Podcast and Cockney Kung Fu)
Nick Prolix (Slang Pictorial)
Dave Broughton (Shaman Kane and Slaughter Hawk).
And many more…
(Art by Dave Broughton.)
Myself and the mighty Dave Broughton supplied a short tale called ‘It’s Not Easy Being Famous’ about a movie extra asking exorbitant prices for an autograph. (Ring any bells anyone?) We had a blast with this story and Dave captured it perfectly.
(Art by Gavin Mitchell).
Other stand-outs include an extended and hilarious visit to the world of Pup and Grumpicorn from comics power couple Emily B Owen and Gavin Mitchell.
(Art by Dan Harris).
A big small press favourite of mine is Dan Harris and he absolutely killed on a great time travel family drama that keeps you guessing until the end. Also look out for Jon Laight and Sooooz Gander supply something pretty special.
(Art by James Lawrence).
If you like nutty wrestling then the volume is worth buying just for the ‘Legend of Mariposa’ from James Lawrence.
Also watch out for some pin-ups by Chris Imber, Mark Laming and a ‘Stranski’ from the Etherington Brothers.
In fact everyone brought their ‘A Game’ to this fun and slickly produced anthology. It’s for some good causes and will bring a smile to your face in the cold winter of 2019!
The cover is by my old mucka Nick Prolix - look at it shine!
Highly recommended.
